Some People Are Never Happy
17 October 2007
Telecom has recently announced that it is stopping its School Connections programme, which allowed customers to earn points for a school which could be exchanged for technology. The programme ran for fourteen years, and many schools benefited from the programme.
As is too be expected, some schools are criticizing Telecom for cancelling the programme and want Telecom to reconsider. The schools have realised that they have been on to a good thing and are reluctant to let it go. Like dole bludgers that spend their lives on the unemployment benefit and dogs and cats that are constantly wanting food, the schools want Telecom to keep spoonfeeding them because the scheme is easy and free. What is this teaching students?
It is sad that the schools can't be grateful for what they have already received. It is now time for the schools to find another sponsor, or to return to the old days of cake stalls and fairs. Let students realise that it is good to work for things, and that we can not always rely on large companies, the government or other people to provide us with things.
