10,000 Steps

26 February 2008

One thing I like about living in a small town is that you can walk everywhere. It means that I can get away with not having a car, which is useful with the price of petrol being so high.

My workplace is running a scheme at the moment where employees have been given a pedometer and have been encouraged to walk 10,000 steps (or more) a day. I was surprised at how easy it is to clock up 10,000 steps. The scheme runs (pardon the pun) for ten weeks; I imagine there will be quite a bit of competition over that time to see who can clock up the most number of steps. I'll keep you posted with how I go.
